Key Metrics for Lucid Group Investors to Track

Published March 11, 2025

Investors in electric vehicles (EVs) who have decided to invest in Lucid Group (LCID) face a multitude of important statistics to follow, from production numbers to delivery figures and various financial data.

However, as the company looks to expand its market presence, one particular number is crucial for investors to pay attention to in the upcoming months.

Focus on Capital Expenditures

Lucid has demonstrated a remarkable 74% increase in vehicle deliveries year-over-year for 2024, showcasing its ability to attract customers with luxury electric vehicles. To continue this trend and grow its product line, Lucid is working hard and aims to introduce three new midsize vehicle models, with the first set to begin production in late 2026.

As part of its strategy, investors should keep an eye on the company’s capital expenditures (capex) in the coming quarters for indications of its progress. In a recent conference call, Lucid's management provided a capex forecast of around $1.4 billion for 2025, which will facilitate the expansion of its AMP-1 and AMP-2 manufacturing facilities located in Arizona and Saudi Arabia. Both facilities are designated for the production of the upcoming midsize vehicles.

The successful production of these vehicles will be vital for Lucid’s overall success. Midsize models are expected to attract a broader customer base due to their more affordable price point, estimated to start around $50,000. Additionally, many vehicles included in the contract for 100,000 vehicles with Saudi Arabia fall under the categories of Gravity and midsize vehicles.

Watch for Low Capex Spending

Investors must not just rely on management's forecasts but should closely monitor Lucid's actual capex in the coming months. If the capex falls short of the projected $1.4 billion, it may signal potential delays in the production of midsize vehicles and possibly create further challenges for the company in the future.

It is essential for investors to stay informed about these financial metrics to ensure a clear understanding of the company's operational health.
