Pakistani Rupee Depreciates Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee experienced a decline against the US dollar on Friday, depreciating by six paisa during interbank trading. It closed at Rs 278.41, slightly down from the previous day's closing of Rs 278.35.

In contrast, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported that the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market were Rs 277.95 and Rs 279.45, respectively. This indicates that while the rupee lost ground, the market rates remained relatively stable.

Alongside the US dollar's movement, the Euro also saw a decrease, dropping by 42 paisa to finish at Rs 289.05, compared to the closing of Rs 289.47 the day before. The exchange rate for the Japanese yen remained steady, closing unchanged at Rs 1.77. However, the British Pound experienced a more significant drop of Rs 2.95, trading at Rs 348.09, down from Rs 351.04.

Additionally, the exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal showed an upward trend, increasing by two paisa and one paisa, respectively. The Emirates Dirham closed at Rs 75.80, while the Saudi Riyal ended at Rs 74.07.

Overall, the fluctuations in currency values reflect ongoing dynamics in the foreign exchange market, affecting traders and businesses alike.
