Golkar: Danantara Must Be Independent to Drive Economic Growth
Jakarta – Members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar Party, Sarmuji, emphasized that the Investment Management Agency (IMB) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) possesses substantial potential to become a major driver of Indonesia's economic growth. However, he pointed out that Danantara's management must be independent, transparent, and accountable, free from political intervention.
"The most important thing is that Danantara's management should be independent, devoid of interference, and conducted professionally to meet expectations," Sarmuji stated on Monday (February 24, 2025).
Sarmuji assured that the House of Representatives would monitor Danantara's management to align with the vision of President Prabowo Subianto. He also encouraged the public to participate in overseeing the transparency of this agency.
"Danantara has significant goals to support investments in strategic sectors and attract foreign capital. Therefore, we must not only place our trust but also ensure optimal oversight is maintained," he explained.
Sarmuji expressed confidence in the capabilities of the professionals selected to lead Danantara. "If we look at individuals such as Mr. Rosan, Mr. Doni, and Mr. Pandu, they are capable and experienced figures in their fields," he added.
Danantara was officially launched by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (February 24, 2025). The leadership structure of Danantara includes Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Roeslani, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Operation Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Erick Thohir, and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board Muliaman D Hadad.
Moreover, former Indonesian presidents will be invited as advisors to ensure that Danantara is managed with high integrity.
In his address, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Danantara is more than just an investment fund; it is a tool to revolutionize the nation's wealth management for the benefit of the people.
"Danantara must be managed with great care, transparency, and be subject to audits at any time. This is a legacy for our children and grandchildren," said Prabowo.
With total assets managed exceeding US$ 900 billion, Danantara is set to become one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world.
