Sundar Pichai to Attend Donald Trump’s Inauguration

Published January 15, 2025

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has confirmed his attendance at Donald Trump’s inauguration, according to sources close to him. This decision comes as no surprise, considering that many other tech leaders will also be present.

Pichai is joining a significant group of CEOs from Silicon Valley, which includes well-known figures like Mark Zuckerberg from Meta, Elon Musk from Tesla, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, and Dara Khosrowshahi from Uber. Recent reports have also indicated that Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, will be attending the event.

Google, under Pichai's leadership, recently announced its donation of $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee, aligning with similar contributions from other major tech companies. This shows a trend of tech giants supporting political events.

This situation mirrors Trump’s previous inauguration in 2017, where several tech leaders visited him at Trump Tower before his official swearing-in, although that meeting was mostly off the record.

This time, however, the focus is evidently on making a public statement. The participation of tech executives signals a notable engagement between the technology sector and the incoming administration.
