Current Trends in Ford Stock and Market Conditions

Published March 24, 2025

Ford Motor Co (NASDAQ: FORD) saw its stock price rise on Monday as reports indicated that upcoming U.S. tariffs might be more focused and less sweeping than initially feared.

Overview: The prospect of targeted tariffs could alleviate some concerns regarding increased costs and supply chain disruptions for the auto industry, particularly benefiting companies like Ford.

The broader market is facing uncertainty, especially within the technology sector, as it approaches what analyst Gene Munster has termed "Vortex Day", which will occur on April 2. This day is significant as it marks the introduction of new tariffs along with the anticipated delivery numbers from Tesla, which are expected to fall short of expectations.

Munster pointed out that many leading tech stocks, collectively known as the "Mag Seven," have experienced declines this year, with Meta being a notable exception. He believes the technology sector has not yet reached its lowest point and could continue to see negative performances in the short term.

Despite these short-term challenges, Munster foresees potential growth for tech stocks in the long run, predicting an upward trend by the end of 2025. However, he cautions that an economic downturn could pose a significant risk to this forecast. Companies like Tesla and Apple are likely to be particularly vulnerable to the impact of tariffs, given their dependence on intricate supply chains and international markets.

For Ford, the current outlook seems more positive, at least for the time being. Anticipation of less severe tariffs has provided a boost to Ford's stock price, reinforcing its recent upward momentum. Still, uncertainties in trade policy could present unforeseen hurdles for the automotive sector moving forward.

Stock Performance: On Monday, Ford shares closed at $10.25, representing a gain of 2.19%, according to market analysis.
